Indirect Purchasing Intern

The Role
Tesla Motors APAC, is currently in the process of creating and implementing a supplier management system to more efficiently manage the overall spend and management of the suppliers in the APAC region. As a purchasing intern, your main role is to support the Regional Indirect Purchasing Manager and the team with review of data and creation of such a system. It's a unique opportunity for an intern to gain a deep insight in how such a system is works and important considerations when choosing what

Main Responsibilities
o    Collect supplier contracts
o    Create supplier data base
o    Review, analyze and categorize contract content
o    Collect other types of supplier data for input into the supplier database
Other Responsibilities:
o    Support the purchasing team in doing basic research
o    Support the purchasing team in managing the supplier database

Requirements
o    Basic understanding of contractual terms is a plus but not required
o    Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors
o    Excellent analytical and judgment skills. Advanced excel skills a must have
o    Strong computer and internet research skills
o    Proficient in English, both oral and written
o    Enjoy working organizing and categorizing numbers and data
o    Bachelor’s degree or above
o    Ideal candidate should be thorough and methodical in their work
