GPFS is one of IBM STG's strategic initiatives for Elastic Storage solutions providing fast, reliable access to a common set of file data from a single node to thousands of nodes, GPFS provides online storage management, scalable access and integrated information lifecycle tools capable of managing petabytes of data and billions of files. GPFS is widely used in HPC area, it has deployed in many supercomputers ranked in Top 500.
