Yahoo! Global R&D Center in Beijing is fully owned and operated by United States based Yahoo! Inc. Traffic Protection team at the center is focused on building large scale data processing systems with appealing technologies to detect fraudulent websites and traffic and optimize Yahoo’s traffic quality. By working with us, you will be very close with ads business, and learn ads technology and how to leverage Yahoo’s leading engineering and science technology to solve real product requirements. You will have chance to work with global teams and observe how a global company like Yahoo operates. We’re looking for self-motivated, technical oriented, and result driven software engineer interns. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to build systems at web scale which drives Yahoo’s revenue.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement methods/models for analyzing significant data volumes for discovering low quality traffic and spam websites.
Design distributed data processing system and big data query service with low latency to empower our BI system.
Roll out the systems to Yahoo cloud.
Help solve challenging engineering initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Experience of development under UNIX/Linux platform.
Solid fundamental computer science knowledge and a desire to apply theory to solve real-world, large-scale distributed system problems.
Good knowledge of C++ or Java.
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or relevant fields.
Good English reading and writing.
At least 3 days on site per week and work for at least 6 months.

Preferred Job Qualifications
Experience with Hadoop, PIG, Map /Reduce and related technologies.
