We’re looking for self-motivated, technical oriented, and result driven software engineer interns. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to build systems at web scale which drives Yahoo’s revenue.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement methods/models for analyzing significant data volumes for discovering low quality traffic and spam websites.
Design distributed data processing system and big data query service with low latency to empower our BI system.
Roll out the systems to Yahoo cloud.
Help solve challenging engineering initiatives.
Minimum Requirements
Experience of development under UNIX/Linux platform.
Solid fundamental computer science knowledge and a desire to apply theory to solve real-world, large-scale distributed system problems.
Good knowledge of C++ or Java.
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or relevant fields.
Good English reading and writing.
At least 4 days on site per week and work for at least 6 months.
Preferred Job Qualifications
Experience with Hadoop, PIG, Map /Reduce and related technologies.

About the team:
Yahoo! Global R&D Center in Beijing is fully owned and operated by US based Yahoo! Inc. We are looking for experienced, passionate, and self-motivated Software Development Engineers to join the Yahoo! Mobile Platforms engineering team. In this capacity, you will participate in the design and development of a cross-platform framework to support development of mobile/desktop applications. You will work with cross-functional groups, including product managers, QE and service engineers, and other engineering teams.
Requirements:
Master/Ph.D in computer science.
Good at C++ or Java programming, iOS and Android knowledge is a plus
Self-directed learning, fast learning.
Knowledge on large scale distributed system is a plus
Good network protocol stacking understanding, socket programming knowledge.
Good team player.
Work at least 4 days a week for at least 6 months.
