This position will compensate the chosen candidate at competitive local Shanghai market wage rate, and benefits will be administered based on local Shanghai benefit practices.
Intern: Software Engineering
Job Description:
o Develop and implement novel software architecture and source code and related documentations applied to security, HVAC or building related applications, perform simulation analysis, performance characterization and experiments design and verification, interact with other engineering teams to ensure system-wide compatibility.
o Communicate with global teams to develop requirements and product specifications; Working closely with a global cross-disciplinary team of technologists to the conception and prototyping of new technology/products related to existing and emerging UTC applications.
o Create new technical and project opportunities through technology leveraging, strategic partnering, and acquisition of external contracts
o Provide timely, accurate and detailed reports and presentations.
Qualifications:
o Required: M.S. or Ph.D. student in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, Human Machine interface, Software Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of 2~3 years of software engineering experience.
o Successful candidates should have:
o Expertise in software architecture and framework design.
o Professional experience in developing/validating software tools performing complex scientific computations, especially for solving differential equations, non-linear algebraic equations, as well as large-scale optimization problems.
o Professional experience in design/conducting software regression tests
o Deep knowledge in object oriented programming, design pattern and Windows based programming.
o Strong understanding of state of the art UI design tools, methodologies and best practices.
o Capability to clearly articulate and implement technical requirements for desired software functionality.
o Identify strategic partners in academia and industry to develop software engineering capabilities.
o Expertise in user interface design, implementation and optimization to maximize user efficiency.
o Good English writing capabilities for software documentations development.
o Solid knowledge in programming languages such as MATLAB, MFC, C/C++, FORTRAN, and Java and also hands-on experiences on software development tools and platforms such as Microsoft Visual Studio and Eclipse.
o Excellent communication and leadership skills; innovative strategic and technical thinker; high energy; team player.
o Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a multi-disciplinary group environment
o Exceptional communication skills, demonstrated commitment to deliver results, and adaptability.
o Ability to execute technology research plans to successfully achieve desired technical outcomes within time and budget constraints.
o Some travel required.
o Fluent English (both written and spoken) and excellent communication skills
o The candidates shall be able to work for at least 4 days per week for at least 4 months time. We hope that you can participate in projects as soon as possible.
