MISSION
As a worldwide energy operator, deeply engaged in social and environmental responsibilities, EDF (Electricité De France) is a leader in low-CO2 energies.
The EDF China R&D Sustainable Cities Program is exploring the benefit of a Low Carbon Energy planning at the scale of a district through a comprehensive energy approach for new districts in China.
To do so, we are adapting existing tools and methodologies developed at EDF R&D to the Chinese context. These tools assist decision makers by delivering a prospective economical and ecological vision of a local multi-energy system given the local specificities and their foreseen evolutions.
Applying your skills as an engineer, you will provide and implement solutions to adapt and test-case the tools to fit different local contexts.
INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION
Preferred internship duration is 6 months, starting between 03/2017 and 06/2017; the exact duration and working schedule can be discussed based on your own situation.
You will work at EDF Beijing R&D Centre which will assist you in the achievement of your objectives;
The internship will cover specific aspects of the existing methodology. These aspects include: individual techno-economical evaluations of energy technologies; dynamic simulations of energy demands in buildings; integrated multi-energy simulation, and techno-economical optimizations.
Through the internship you will gain a solid and wide range of competencies on data analysis, energy system modeling, and optimization.
NEEDED SKILLS
Engineering students with a strong background in one or more of the topics: energy, HVAC, building science, process, or numerical optimization, are preferred.
Coding skills in Matlab or Python or R is required. Experience with Dymola and/or TIMES is a plus.
English proficiency.
