Spring Intern: CDP Beijing
CDP is seeking a highly motivated individual to join its investor program. The successful candidate should be fluent in both Mandarin and English, with a passion for sustainability and/or environmental issues to support CDP China office's communication work. The position would provide opportunities to whom interested incorporates climate change reporting and exploring the working environment in an international, innovative business-focused NGO.
CDP runs an annual disclosure process on behalf of 803 institutional investors with combined assets in excess of $100 trillion. Disclosing companies provide quantitative and qualitative information about their greenhouse gas emissions, energy efficiency programs, water management, exposure to deforestation and strategic business approach to environmental risk.
Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Enhance the CDP’s influence and effectiveness in the China region;
Support the communication issues including:
Operating CDP social medias: Wechat, Blog and website;
Facilitating the communication activities online and offline;
Translating materials of CDP projects or other job-related areas;
Research assistant;
Develop annual work plan in collaboration with the project lead of China,
bringing in local and regional stakeholders
Engage with and support China suppliers to improve the levels of supply chain disclosure on deforestation.
Collaborate with project partners on intelligence, assessment, and situational analysis
Coordinate with CDP colleagues across programs and countries
Requirements:
Major in environmental, communication, public policy, international relations or related areas;
Enthusiasm with keen interest in climate change, environmental issues and CDP’s work;
Native Mandarin speaker with high English proficiency;
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken;
Detail-oriented and organized thinker who can juggle multiple, competing priorities.
Experience of operating social medias like Wechat, Blog and website is highly preferred;
Events organization experience is desirable;
Strong IT skills, including picture management skills including PhotoShop, HTML, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new systems quickly;
Demonstrated strong self-motivation and an ability to work effectively under pressure.

The successful candidate will be expected to work with us for 3 months, at least 3 days a week, standard office hours;
