JL McGregor & Company (www.jlmcgregor.com) is an independent research firm focused exclusively on China. The company was founded in 2006 to meet institutional investors’ growing and unmet demand for accurate and insightful China business intelligence. Our clients include some of the world’s largest hedge funds, mutual fund and pension funds.
JL McGregor & Company’s management team includes former journalists, executives and government officials with decades of experience living and working in China. Its seasoned analysts are based primarily in Shanghai, with an extensive network of researchers throughout China. We also have offices in New York and Beijing.
We are now looking for a wind industry analyst to enhance our renewable energy research team. The ideal candidate may meet the following requirements:
1. Has a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering or Science related majors from top universities. Anyone who has taken coursework, research or study on wind energy technology/industry is strongly preferred.
2. Has work experiences in Chinese wind industry - any internship, part-time job or research projects with wind energy companies is fine. Experience in wind market research or policy research is also OK.
3. With intensive knowledge about Chinese wind energy market. Be familiar with the business model, policy environment, and future prospect.
4. With strong English communication and writing skills.
5. Although the position does not need full-time work experience, such experience in wind-related companies is welcome.
6. Experience and knowledge in finance and accounting are also welcome.
Major Job Functions:
1. Collect, organize and analyze information about Chinese and world wind energy markets.
2. Prepare and write research reports about wind industry and US-listed wind companies for institutional investors.
3. Contact wind companies and professionals for information, data, and generate ideas.
4. Make models about supply/demand in wind market and cost structure of wind companies.
5. Other client-oriented activities if necessary.
