Index Services Production Intern

Main purpose of the job:
The Index Production Intern will be part of a small team of analysts that calculate and maintain all Asian based Indices in the S&P global suite. The role will involve the following:

Analysis of Chinese & Asia Pacific public listed companies.
Data collection and Research into listed companies as part of the annual free float review process
Using both International & Chinese data vendors to gather shareholder information.
Using equity databases to facilitate reports and queries for internal use.

Key competencies/skills required:
Functional
Working knowledge of analytical applications such as Excel and Access, and various data vendor tools including Reuters and Bloomberg.
Familiarity with listed company annual reports & in particular shareholder tables.
Demonstrates the ability to work within a small team and autonomously where required.
Supports the Global Index Analyst with the project on a daily basis.
Communication
Works in a polite and professional manner.
Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
Contributes to an enthusiastic, positive work climate.
Education:
A tertiary qualification (degree or equivalent) in Bachelor of Commerce, Economics or Finance, or related discipline is required
Excellent written and oral English; Familiar with Finance and Accounting knowledge and terms;
Familiar with Word, Excel and Project software application
Fast learner and be responsible
