Hi there,
We are a group of students who are members to the Financial Study Association Amsterdam (FSA), the biggest financial study association of the Netherlands.We are looking for some Chinese students to join us for FSA Research Program from June to September.
Every year the Financial Study Association Amsterdam organizes a Research Project for twenty-two motivated Dutch students. This year our destination is China. In groups of two, the students are going to do research for ten Dutch companies that are interested in doing business with China. The Research Project will start with five weeks of desk research in the Netherlands. After these five weeks of desk research we will travel to China to conduct five weeks of field research. At the end of the project we will write a professional report for the companies and give them a presentation of our findings. A few examples of companies we conducted research for in the past are Oxfam Novib, DHL, ING, Rabobank, Philips, Dutch Trade Board and several middle size companies.
We have a wide range of influential people that support us. To name a few; the President of the Dutch National Bank, the Chairman of the Dutch Social Economic Council, the Director of Hofung Technology and first director ABN-Bank in Beijing and the Major of Amsterdam. During the whole research we will also work closely with the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and the VU University Amsterdam (VU) and the professors that are connected to the universities. At the end of June we will travel to China to perform our five weeks of field research. This is the reason why we are contacting you. We would like to ask you if you or other students at your university speak English fluently and are interested in working with Dutch students on an international project. We are looking for students are willing to help us with translating when we are visiting Chinese companies or government institutions. The project will take place in the area of Beijing in the months of July and August 2010.
Your contribution could help us a lot and the benefits are both way. You can get into contact with Dutch students, gain international experience and practice your English. Furthermore, you will be able to work on your professional skills by visiting Chinese companies. Finally, each participant will receive an official certificate for your activities from our study association and your expenses will be covered.
We hope that you would like to help with us with our language barrier by acting as a translator when we visit Chinese companies in China this summer.
