1 Research worker - Reservoir engineer

You will work as a research worker in a new, dynamic, international team to develop geothermal energy in China. You are responsible for the evaluation and  inspection of existing wells that can be used to extract or inject hot water. You will define and budget any necessary adaptations of the wells in order to be usable for geothermal energy production. Afterwards, you will prepare and oversee the field works needed to adapt the wells. Eventually, you will design, budget, prepare and oversee the drilling of new deep wells (up to 5.000 m) for geothermal systems.
The job asks that you have experience in deep drilling and have a large network among local drilling contractors and service companies. You have knowledge of the local regulation with respect to deep, drilling. Knowledge of the English language is a prerequisite

Education: Civil Engineer specialized in reservoir engineering of mining, or Ph.D. of Sciences - Geology
Experience: preferably 5 years experience in the design and drilling of deep wells (for oil or gas production or for the extraction of water from deep aquifers)
Language skills: Acceptable level of reading and speaking of English


2 Research workers - Geologists

You will work as a research worker in a new, dynamic, international team to develop geothermal energy in China. After a number of training sessions, you will be responsible for the evaluation of geological data to draw thematic geological maps, build 3D static geological models and calculate natural heat resources and reserves. In order to conduct these tasks, you will need to work with high level software applications ad have to contact and communicate with local, Chinese geologists and with experts from Europe.
The job asks that you are familiar with geological maps and cross sections and have experience in the interpretation of geophysical logs and stratigraphic correlation based on wells and seismic data. You are familiar with regular word-processing and spreadsheet software and have a basic knowledge of geographic information systems and mapping software. Knowledge of the English language is a prerequisite.

Education: Master in Geology, preferably with specialization in sedimentology, structural geology or both.
Experience: no professional experience required
Language skills: Acceptable level of reading and speaking of English
