Looking for full time interns to work on Solaris platform sowftware in the areas of Solaris IO framework, ie PCI/E, hotplug, I/O virtualization, interrupt, DMA, Fault Management for both SPARC & x86 architectures.

Our projects deliver features to support the latest technology trends in the Sun/Oracle hardware I/O and Fault Management stack. The candidate will work closely with both local and global teams to design and implement innovative solutions to optimize Solaris I/O functionality, performance and HW serviceability. The job will reward the candidate with in-depth understanding of Solaris I/O framework, Sun hardware architecture and Solaris software development methodology.
The main responsiblities include assiting project leads in software component design, code development & unit testing, independent bug triage and root cause analysis, engaging bug submitter & testing team to test & verify bug fix, and working with project lead & technical program manager to execute and drive bug fix plan for each Solaris releases. The job will require day-to-day communication w/ remote teams so good written/reading/speaking English skill is a must.
Qualifications:
- Master candidate in Computer Science or related majors.
- Good knowledge in Software Programming, Operating System design and Computer architecture.
- Strong C programming language skills
- Good problem solving skills
- Understanding of Linux or UNIX/Solaris internals
- Good communication skills
- Good spoken/written English skills
- Experience in PCI/E, device driver, operating system, or embedded system development is a plus.
- Can work 30 - 40 hours a week and commit to a minimum of 10 - 12 month contract
