VMware is seeking talented Computer Science or Computer Engineering interns to join our ESX QA team. As one of our R&D Engineers, you will be responsible for testing the delivery of our enterprise product set (ESX,ESXi). This includes test design, test development, test execution and test automation. You will work closely with other developers and help ship products of very high quality.
Responsibilities:
1)Perform testing on VMware Flagship Virtual Infrastructure products
2)Write and update test documents and test cases
3)Enhance and create QA Automation test scripts and configurations based on project needs, execute automated test and analyze test results
4)Develop tools for the QA team
Requirements:
1)Majoring in Computer Science or related is required
2)Able to work full-time for 6 months or longer
3)Linux/Unix and Windows environments and OS knowledge
4)Working knowledge and hands-on coding experience in one or more of the following programming: Perl, Shell script, Java
5)Understanding of PC peripherals (storage, USB, etc)
6)Networking knowledge
7)Good troubleshooting and debugging skills to find the root cause
8)Excellent written and verbal English communications and organization skills
9)Experience with SilkTest and/or Python is a big plus
10)Experience with industrial tool writing is a big plus
11)Knowledge of software QA methodology is a big plus
12)Knowledge of software life-cycle is a plus
13Networking configuration/setup hands-on experience is a plus
