Abstract:
Backlund transformation is a classical and powerful method solving soliton equations. It can be traced back to Backlund’s work on the diffeomorphisms of pseudospherical surfaces. In this talk, I will give a brief review of Backlund transformation in soliton theory and loop group factorization. As an example, we will construct Backlund transformations for nonlinear Schrodinger-type hierarchies.
