Abstract:
This talk is about Vlasov plasma and it is consisting of two main parts.
(1) In the first part, for the collisionless non-relativistic plasma motion, we shall introduce an intermediate system of equations called momentum-Vlasov equations. We shall show that this system is related with the Vlasov equation by a Poisson map. For the momentum-Vlasov equation, we shall propose a geometric pathway (involving complete lifts and vertical representatives) from the particle motion to the evolution of the field variables.
(2) In the second part, we shall concentrate on some possible (de)compositions of Lie algebras namely extended structures and matched pair (double cross sum) algebras. On the associated Lie-Poisson formulations, we shall propose various frameworks for (de)couplings of Hamiltonian (sub)systems under mutual interaction. These geometries will permit us to realize some possible decompositions of the Lie-Poisson formulations of the (momentum-)Vlasov equation, the dynamics of the kinetic moments, and the BBGKY hierarchy.
