The GDM Seminar is temporarily suspended
The GDMSeminar organizers condemn, in the strongest terms, the military invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, and deplore the resulting loss of life and humanitarian impact, as well as the involvement of Belarus in this unlawful use of force against Ukraine. We also express our solidarity with our Ukrainian colleagues, their families and the entire Ukrainian people. Our thoughts are with everyone whose life has been disrupted by the war. We also support the many members of the Russian scientific community and population who reject this invasion.
The GDMSeminar was born to create a communication channel for our community during the first, dark phase of the pandemia. We could have never imagined that even darker days were ahead of us.
In the first days of a war, that nobody could imagine so violent and inhuman, many of us, and many in our community and in our countries, were disoriented and dramatically concerned, to the point that it was difficult to keep focusing on our regular activities as if nothing was happening. This is why we decided for a temporary suspension.
We trust that our entire community, participants and speakers, understand our concerns and join us in our condemnation of the war and in our support for the peace in Ukraine. We are hopeful that reason and humanity will prevail and this horrendous situation will finish soon.
