Abstract:
Recurrence is a basic notion in dynamical systems. In this talk the result on the existence of multiply recurrent points with some given properties which refines van der Waerden’s theorem will be presented. Moreover, the very recent results on piecewise syndetic subsets and integral polynomials will be discussed. Both results are obtained by using the nilpotent structures in dynamical systems.The talk is based on joint works with Glasner-Huang-Shao-Weiss, and Huang-Shao
