Title: The Density of Chance. Remarks on Maryam Mirzakhani’s life and work.
Abstract: This talk introduces the life and work of Maryam Mirzakhani. After a brief biographical sketch, it explores key aspects of her mathematics and shows how her ideas transformed the field, including the celebrated “Magic Wand Theorem” of Eskin and Mirzakhani.
You are also welcomed to join for coffee and tea will be waiting for you at 2:00 pm in G.15.34.
After the seminar, we would also like to invite everyone to join us for a movie screening of “Hidden Figures” starting at 18:30 in HS 14.
The movie will be shown with English subtitles, so everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy.
