About Sophos Academic Consulting:
Founded by two recent graduates of Harvard College, we are a newly incorporated academic consulting company based in Beijing. Our mission is three-fold: (1) to provide tailored consulting services to Chinese secondary students interested in attending top colleges in the U.S., (2) to disseminate current, first-hand knowledge and insight about U.S. higher education to the broader Chinese population, and (3) to broker the exchange of information between U.S. and Chinese educational institutions.
As we primarily serve the Chinese market, much of our written communication requires translation from English to Chinese. Therefore, we are seeking a translator to aid us with such tasks.
Job Description: Translation Assistant
This is a part-time position, which will be paid based on the amount of translation completed. The workload will vary, and we will have a preference for candidates with the flexibility necessary to provide a quick turnaround for all assignments and to take on extra work if needed. However, on average, the time commitment should only be approximately 3-5 hours per week. Also, the work can be done almost exclusively remotely, though we may occasionally require face-time at our location in Beijing's Central Business District.
Current students are strongly encouraged to apply. The desired start date is as soon as possible, but we are willing to postpone assignments until after the Chinese New Year.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree (or current university student)
* Language skills: Mandarin (native) and English (fluent, esp. written)
* Previous written translation experience, from English to Chinese, a plus

这是一个兼职工作，会根据所完成的翻译数量来支付薪酬。工作量会有所不同，但是我们倾向于有一定的灵活度来迅速完成任务，并且在我们需要的时候承担起额外工作的人。但是，平均来说，时间应该是每周3－5个小时。同时，虽然有时候，我们会要求你来北京中央商务区域与我们见面，但是大多数工作可以完全远距离完成。
可以开始的时间越早越好，但是我们也可以将时间延迟到春节以后。
