你叫世人回归尘土，说：“人类阿，要归回！”因为在你看、千年如刚过的昨日，又如夜里的一更。你年年把人撒播去（传统：你把他们冲去，他们就睡着），他们就如草早晨萌了芽；早晨萌了芽而发旺，晚上就凋萎枯干了。

因为我们因你的怒气而消灭，因你的烈怒而惶恐到死。你将我们的罪孽摆在你面前，将我们的隐恶摆在你圣容之光辉中。我们的日子都在你的震怒中过去；我们度尽了岁月、像叹了一口气。这其中、我们的年日是七十岁；若是强壮，可到八十岁；但其中所矜夸的、不过是劳苦愁烦迅速地过去，我们也飞没了。谁晓得你怒气之权势，谁看明你震怒之威力（传统：按你该受的敬畏）呢？求你指教我们怎样数算自己的日子，好增进智慧之心。

My Master, you have been our home
forever and ever.
You were God
before the mountains were born
and the earth and the world were made.
God, you have always been
and will always be God!
You bring people into this world,
and you change them into dust again.
To you, a thousand years is like yesterday,
like a few hours in the night
that passed by in your sleep.
Our life is like a dream, and in the morning we are gone.
We are like grass.
In the morning the grass grows, and in the evening it is dry and dying.
Your anger could destroy us.
Your anger scares us!
You know about all our sins.
You see every one of our secret sins.
Your anger can end our life.
Our lives fade away like a whisper.
We live about 70 years,
or if we are strong, maybe 80 years.
But most of them are filled with hard work and pain.
Then, suddenly, the years are gone, and we fly away.
No one really knows the full power of your anger,

Teach us how short our lives are
