Inter target Osvaldo AWOL
By Football Italia staff
Inter transfer target Daniel Pablo Osvaldo has gone AWOL from Southampton’s pre-season training.
The fiery Italy international spent the last six months on loan at Juventus after a training ground brawl saw him headbut Jose Fonte.
Juve did not take up their option to buy, but Osvaldo was meant to start pre-season work with the Saints two weeks ago.
According to the Daily Echo, the 28-year-old had been given a brief stay due to medical reasons backed up by a doctor’s note.
However, he is still nowhere to be seen with the squad leaving for Belgium on tour.
This increases the chances of Osvaldo making a move back to Serie A, as Inter are prepared to take him on.
However, they would only accept a loan deal with option to buy.
Southampton paid 12.9m for Osvaldo last summer, a club transfer record.
