The Role: WorldQuant is seeking Quantitative Developer Interns to:
o Develop utility tools that can further automate the software development, testing and deployment workflow under the guidance of senior quantitative researchers
o Assist in building software systems that manage vast quantities of data efficiently and can facilitate effective quantitative analysis and research
o Pre-process and analyze unstructured financial market data, such as news articles, analyst commentary, or social sentiment data, etc.
o Other tasks assigned by senior managers
What You’ll Bring:
o Pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree from a leading university in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Financial Engineering, or related areas. Ability to work at least 3 days per week, for a minimum of 6 months
o Proficient in Python or C/C++; Familiar with Linux/Unix
o Knowledge and/or work experience in finance, especially in stock market
o Experience with Natural Language Processing / Machine Learning is a plus
o Open to new knowledge and ability to pick up new concepts quickly
o Dedicated and self-disciplined with a strong work ethic and willingness to help others
