The Role:
o Analyzing and adjusting fundamental data, evaluating firm performance based on US GAAP accounting rules and industry conventions
o Identifying key business/economic relations by analyzing various types of information such as company financial statements, conference call transcripts, company websites, etc.
o Establishing procedures that enable timely and efficient procurement and delivery of relevant company information
o Monitoring and parsing other information about companies, e.g. annual report notes managers’ comments or discussions, etc.
Its Impact: We are seeking interns for a research analyst position for our research offices in China to analyze the fundamental and financial information about publicly traded companies and to build proprietary databases to facilitate our quantitative investment research.
What You’ll Bring:
o Bachelor’s degree or above from a reputable university
o Proficient in Python, knowledge of C/C++ is a plus
o Knowledge and/or work experience in finance, especially in stock market and financial statement analysis
o Knowledge about accounting (especially US GAAP) is a plus
o Knowledge about natural language processing is a plus
o Experience at a commercial financial data provider is a plus
o Experience in equity research is a plus (particularly global equity)
o Composite background is a plus
o Good interpersonal skills and team player mentality
o Strong work ethic and drive to succeed; and fluent in written English
