JOB TITLE: Technical Writer
LOCATION: Beijing


Responsibilities:
planning, organizing, writing and editing a variety of Alcatel-Lucent technical

publications. Acquires and organizes basic source material, including applicable

specifications, engineering write-ups and drawing packages.  Works with

Development, Quality Assurance, Technical Support, Professional Services and

Training Departments in a cross-functional team environment to gather information

needed to create quality materials.  

The Technical Writer seeks ways to improve the documentation process and content

and to simplify the customer interaction with the product suite.  The Technical

Writer specifically:
· Works to continuously improve the content and appearance of technical

publications
· Maintains an expert knowledge in the field of technical publications
· Achieves expert product knowledge in order to produce quality materials
· Provides innovative ideas and solutions for the packaging and delivery of  

technical publications
· Works with Development, Quality Assurance, and Product/Project Management to

ensure appropriate creation and timely delivery of technical publications to

coincide with product release
· Works cooperatively with other technical writing staff to ensure appropriate

coverage of several kinds of product releases (large point releases, maintenance

releases and customer bug fix releases)
· Follows corporate style guides  to ensure a consistent look and feel for

publications releases
· Understands the high level technical solutions being developed


Requirements:
· Major in Scientific English or related
· Experience with professional technical writing tools, including ArborText,

Framemaker, Robohelp, any standard graphics tool, and HTML to create and manage

technical publications
· Significant experience in working with extremely complex technical solutions
· Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Desired experience includes familiarity with mobile telecommunications

technology and standards, network-based solutions, or other highly technical

systems
