Lashing, slashing, lightning-swift sickles were heard
where weeds receded. A small bird nearby
fled darting skyward: Splash!

到你发现草丛里躺着一颗蛋
我已喊了起来——草歪向一边
光线涌入：它几乎还是透明的
You spotted an egg laid in the grass
when I was already exclaiming--weeds tilted aside
and rays of light burst in: it was almost translucent.

现在我们喝酒谈论着这件事：
那时你躬身把它拾进口袋
不加思索，而你的姿态
Right now we are chatting about it over a drink:
That moment you bowed down, picked it up and put it in the pocket
without giving it a thought, while your posture

又像对那只远遁的鸟表示了歉意
seemed as if apologizing to that fugitive bird afar.
